For low-risk prototypes, that might mean synthetic data, a restricted testing environment and no access to production systems. For a customer-facing application, it might require engineering review, security testing, accessibility checks and a named operational owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make the requirements for each stage visible to everyone involved. A successful demonstration should trigger a readiness review before the application is released to customers or connected to critical systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Start with a bounded business problem<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
